The National Hook-up of Black Women, Inc., (NHBW, Inc.)
is a charitable 501(c)3 corporation with members dedicated to building stronger families within their communities.
The NHBW, Inc. membership reflects a rich history and
diversity of women of African descent that represents a broad constituency which crosses economic, social and educational
levels. Hook-up members volunteer their time and talents to provide services that impact the lives of many in need.
The NHBW, Inc. was formed to create and implement an agenda
of art, cultural, health and human service programs, which is supported by members across the nation.
The National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. (NHBW) organization
was formally established in 1974. Our goal is to affect the community at its source. Attained achievement comes through
the empowerment of local chapters who best define the needs of their communities and who can, as the need dictates, institute
programs effectively at the grass roots level that are within the scope of NHBW's national agenda. Please visit the web site
of our National Office.
September is National Literacy Month. Celebrate by reading a book to a child, with a teen, or
as a reward to yourself for another successful week. It is never too soon or too late to start reading.
