NHBW Supports Students Seeking Higher Education
Nashville Chapter's The Lillian Wynn Allen Scholarship Award is awarded to high school seniors to provide mentorship in addition to moral, spiritual, and tangible support for African American students who are continuing their education beyond the secondary level. To be eligible to apply, students must reside in Nashville or surrounding communities and are completing a secondary education (high school), or are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.

The Dr. Arnita Young Boswell Scholarship is awarded to high school graduates based on academic competition as outline in the annual scholarship offered by the national headquarters. A minimum of $1,000 will be awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student for continuing education, likewise, based on academic competition between the awardees from the previous years.
The Dr. Wynetta A. Frazier "Sister to Sister" Scholarship is awarded to women who are returning to school without the support of a spouse of family. These scholarship candidates may have dropped out of school to seek employment, care for their children or could not afford higher education. A minimum of two (2) $500 awards will be made annually based on competition, as outlined in the annual application and also offered by the national headquarters.
